BAME actors to star in BBC Comedy Thriller.
BAFTA award winning actor and writer Gbemisola Ikumelo, Hammed Animashaun and BAFTA award winning actor and producer Akemnji Ndifornyen, star in the upcoming Comedy Thriller ‘Black Ops’ which be premiering on BBC One and BBC IPlayer.

The six part thriller is being produced by BBC Studios Comedy Productions and Mondo Deluxe for BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
This television series is the story of Dom and Kay, who are two Police Community Support Officers from East London who join the Met Police in the hope of cleaning up their community but are plunged into the murky world of deep cover infiltration.
The Character Dom, played by Ikumelo, takes no nonsense while actor Animashaun plays Kay, the naïve, but surprisingly capable partner who lives with his church elder. The pair find themselves in a high stakes secret mission where they are introduced to one of the leaders of the Brightmarsh gang named Tevin, who is played by Ndifornyen.
Actor Ikumelo expressed her excitement on working with her fellow actors in this upcoming project: “It’s great to be working with Akemnji again after Famalam and Hammed is such a funny, brilliant, generous actor. I’m chomping at the bits to get started”.
The executive producer and Head of Comedy at BBC Studios, Josh Cole commented that: “Black Ops is an ambitious comedy thriller that defies traditional genre expectations. The scripts are gripping and hilarious, and we’re delighted to have Gbemi, Hammed & AK leading our talented cast”.
Filming for Black Ops is now underway with further casting to be announced in due course. Black Ops is set to premiere next year on BBC One and BBC IPlayer
