Banksy’s new work reveals an off-stream British superhero

A new Banksy artwork paying tribute to NHS workers, has appeared at Southampton General Hospital.

The piece called ‘Game Changer’, reveals a young boy playing with a toy nurse as a superhero over Batman and Spiderman. The nurse is pictured with a cape, face mask and white apron as her arm is raised as if she is flying.

The unidentified street artist also left a note for hospital workers, it read “ Thanks for all you’re doing. I hope this brightens the place up a bit, even if it’s only black and white”.

Hospital chief executive Paula Head said, “So proud to reveal this amazing piece of art ‘Painting for saints’, created by #Banksy as a thank you to all those who work with and for the NHS and our hospital.”

She added on Twitter, “An inspirational backdrop to pause and reflect in these unprecedented times,”

A spokeswoman for Banksy confirmed the painting will remain at Southampton General Hospital and then later auctioned to raise money for the NHS.
